Nissan has confirmed that the new-generation Nissan Murano will debut in the 2014 New York International Auto Show on April 16.
In the teaser photo and video, the 2015 Nissan Murano can be seen having boomerang-shaped headlights and taillights. It is likely to sport sharp exterior styling like the Resonance concept unveiled last year.
The Murano will also have the front-wheel drivetrain of the Altima and the Pathfinder, and similar engine lineup as the latter. But it will not have a seven-seater option. The current Murano CrossCabriolet will also be discontinued for 2015 year model.
Nissan, the least profitable automaker in the last quarter of 2013, is seeking sales growth with the help of the redesigned midsize crossover which they are touting as the “halo” entrant for the SUV segment.
The sales of the Murano declined by 14 percent to just over 44,600 units in 2013. In February this year, its sales are still down by 13 percent compared to the same period last year.
The 2015 Murano is due in fall this year.
