The 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe will arrive in New York for its world debut at the city’s annual international auto show happening in April.
While other markets will get a rear-wheel-drive S63 AMG Coupe, the U.S. market will enjoy the high-performance coupe with Mercedes-Benz’s 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard equipment.
The Coupe will get its power from the familiar twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 engine that makes whopping 585 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. The standard 7-speed automatic transmission will launch the S63 AMG Coupe at 62 mph in just less than 3.9 second. The coupe is limited to run up to 186 mph top speed.
The car’s lightweight design aims to defy its 4,400-pound curb weight. Some weight-saving features include carbon-ceramic brakes, lithium-ion battery, aluminum structure and light alloy wheels.
Mercedes will announce the pricing and availability of the S63 AMG Coupe in fall this year. But with the S63 sedan priced at above $140,000, its coupe cousin might cost several thousands more.
