After the debut of the 2015 Ford Focus hatchback at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, Ford Motor Company has now unveiled the 2015 Focus sedan and Electric which will both appear, together with their hatchback sibling, at the 2014 New York International Auto Show.
The 2015 Ford Focus received exterior and interior styling updates. It also promises a quieter ride with the improved engine-bay insulation and thicker side window glass.
The 1.0-liter EcoBoost, which is being offered in the Fiesta already, is now available for the 2015 Focus. It comes with only a 6-speed automatic transmission. The specifications of this small engine for the American market have yet to be released. But it will more likely come with 123 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque which the Fiesta’s EcoBoost makes. There are also no details yet about the 2015 Focus’ EPA fuel economy ratings.
The existing 160-hp 2.0-liter engine, though, is still available as well as the 107-kilowatt or 143-hp electric motor in the Focus Electric.
Another thing that’s new for 2015 is the SE Sport Package which equips the Focus with 17-inch black gloss aluminum wheels, new body treatments, and a revised suspension. Features like Ford’s MyKey nanny system, rearview camera and MyFord Touch, which comes with an 8-inch screen, are standard on the Focus for the first time.
Available features include, among others, heated steering wheel and blind-spot and lane-departure warning systems. The SYNC AppLink system has also been upgraded and now allows downloads of over 60 apps for Apple and Android devices.
The full range of the 2015 Ford Focus will debut in the Big Apple during the New York Auto Show on April 18.
