The standard 2015 Corvette Stingray is already impressive, but Chevrolet made the stunning car even more remarkable by offering two new design packages which offer something for both East Coast and West Coast.
Last week, Chevrolet announced that the 2015 model year Corvette Stingray will be available in Atlantic and Pacific Design Editions. The Atlantic luxury convertible and the Pacific performance coupe will roll out into showrooms later this year, along with the others included the 2015 Corvette Stingray lineup.
Chevrolet came up with these design packages to offer customers the opportunity to customize the Corvette Stingray into something that reflects who they really are. Corvette exterior design manager Kirk Bennion said in a statement that “one of the design goals for the Corvette Stingray was to provide customers with the flexibility to tailor the car to their personality.”
“The Atlantic and Pacific Design Packages were originally designed to showcase how the Stingray could be configured as a luxury sport GT car or as a high-performance motorsport car,” he added.
The bi-coastal distinction is merely to differentiate between two different themes. The Atlantic Design Package was created with luxury in mind, while the Pacific Design Package was clearly inspired by and made for the track.
For the 2015 Corvette Stingray Atlantic Design Package, Chevrolet took inspiration from “the luxury and performance of private jets seen at European vacation destinations,” and the car clearly shows it. It features a front Z06-style splitter, Chrome Torque wheels, as well as exterior vents, hood stinger and tonneau inserts in Shark Gray (which is a new color for 2015). This design package also comes with custom splash guards and custom luggage.
Potential buyers would be happy to know that the Atlantic Design Package comes in all the colors offered on the Corvette Stingray. It also comes in 2LT or 3LT trims. However, this particular design package is only offered on Z51-equipped convertibles.
As for the 2015 Corvette Stingray Pacific Design Package, Corvette took inspiration from drivers in the West Coast who spend their weekends on the track. The car surely looks ready for the track, with its satin black racing stripes and satin black Z51 wheels. The Pacific Design Package also comes complete with red brake calipers, carbon fiber ground effects and roof panel, unique splash guards and rear license plate frame, as well as carbon flash rear spoiler, exterior badges and outside mirrors.
Moreover, Corvette offers this specific design package with red or black Competition Sport Seats.
The Pacific Design Package is offered only on Z51-equipped coupes. Just like the Atlantic Design Package, it is also available in 2LT and 3LT trims.
In terms of color choices, buyers can choose from Shark Gray, Blade Silver, Arctic White, Torch Red and Black.
Like all other 2015 Corvette models, both the Atlantic and Pacific design packages will come with the all-new eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission. The seven-speed manual transmission is the standard.
The two design packages will also come with Performance Data Recorder, a system that consists of a high-definition camera (which is mounted on the windshield header trim), a telemetry recorder and an SD-card slot for the recording of video and vehicle data.
